Some say there’s a season that surpasses many other seasons of life. With any such luck, it is long and well-lived. Rewarding and comforting. Challenging yet fulfilling. Unlike anything else. That season is motherhood.
This weekend, we celebrate and honor the women in our lives who are collectively our moms, mentors, advocates, inspiration, and friends. They are the ones who have opened their hearts for us, time after time, expecting nothing in return. You know who they are in your own fabric of life. Be sure to find a way — your own special way — to show them gratitude, especially this weekend.
A few simple ideas:
If she loves words of affirmation:
Make or pick up our simple blank-inside card and write something from the heart. And who doesn’t love snail mail?
If gifts are her love language:
Send a book, her favorite beverage, self-care items or printed family photos.
If she values quality time above all else:
Make sure you set aside time for a video or phone call. Visit if you can, or plan a time to do so in the future.
If she appreciates a kind act:
Drop off a home-cooked meal or carryout from her favorite spot. Bake her favorite sweet treat. Donate to or volunteer at a charity she supports. Give her a day “off” – whatever that means for her.
How will you be celebrating the women in your life?
