In the Relationship section of The Engagement Journal, we talk specifically about mindfulness in our relationships, including ways to weave mindfulness into your day in small ways.
I’d like to share a few resources and people who are creatively sharing their mindfulness practices in this time of great uncertainty. Enjoy!
Meditation
- Cecilia Shanahan, founder of Mindful Learning Lab, is offering free 15-minute meditation sessions via Zoom. Sign up for her email newsletter to see when she is doing her next group session! I find it much easier to meditate when I schedule actual time on the calendar for it. 15 minutes is the perfect time for beginners and you can turn your camera off so the group won’t see your “day pajamas.” Simple and effective!
Sound Healing & Yoga
-
Last week, holistic entrepreneurs Alexandra Sirocky and Amir Adib went live on Instagram to offer a sound healing meditation and yoga practice. If you haven’t heard of sound healing, run-don’t-walk to listen to the beautiful sounds of singing bowls. They will be hosting another sound healing and yoga practice very soon, so follow @nomyogi to find out when & tune in. If yoga is part of your mindfulness practice (or if you’d like to start!) Alexandra has written an incredible yoga practice e-book. Grab it on nomaste.com.

Music is an extremely powerful way to change my mood if I’m feeling down or in a funk. Spend 10 minutes to create your own playlist of songs that evoke positive memories or have put you in a good mood before. I created a cozy little playlist for a meditation session or winding down in the evenings. Check it out on Spotify.
→ If you know someone who is engaged and would love The Engagement Journal, send it to them as a surprise package. Spread the love by sending some unexpected joy.
→ If you know someone who had their wedding plans postponed, the journal can help them reset and rethink some of the decisions they may have already made. Postponing your wedding isn’t easy, so send them a little extra love, too.
